The Pierce Bomb, sometimes referred to as a Spiked Bomb,or a Passthrough bomb, is a special bomb upgrade. It turns the player's bombs into spiked bombs that can, as the name implies, penetrate through multiple soft blocks or items. Only hard blocks and other bombs will block the explosion of a Pierce Bomb.

The Pierce Bomb is most notably useful in clearing out walls and getting more items in a faster manner. Because of its special feature, combined with a large blast radius the Pierce Bomb can nullify an opponent's strategy of hiding behind blocks. It can also catch opponents off guard if they do not realize your bomb is a Pierce Bomb, but on the flip side it can also cause its user's demise if the player is not paying extra attention.
