Bomberman Act: Zero

From Bomberman wiki

Bomberman Act: Zero is a 2006 game for the Xbox 360, part of the Bomberman video game series. The game features a complete redesign of the Bomberman character - instead of being a minute robot (i.e. Shirobon) the Bomberman in this game is a mechanical looking cyborg.

[edit] Criticism

Before its release, Electronic Gaming Monthly, "rewarded" the game with its Shame of the Month award, comparing Bomberman's new Halo-esque getup to Mario morphing into a cold-eyed Mafia hitman, and criticizing the game for its severe lack of play options (only two multiplayer modes). It has also been criticised for having no offline multiplayer option; all multiplayer occurs through Xbox Live. [1]

Many also disliked Bomberman's new design in Act: Zero. Game Daily, on its video "Big No's of 2006", commented that Bomberman "Looked like Master Chief on crack" and Adam Sessler on X-Play made a similar comment saying, "...you look like Master Chief and Venom had a baby".

Despite the varying opinions on the game's new style, the gameplay of B:AZ was universally panned by critics, who felt the game suffered from a lack of depth and from a poorly implemented camera system.

Perhaps one of the harshest critisisms, though, was its 99 level single-player mode that forces you to start from the beginning when you die, regardless of how far you go through it. Because of this, it is widely regarded as one of the worst games ever made.

On July 2nd, 2007, Hudson Entertainment's Bee TV video podcast published a featurette about the making of Bomberman LIVE, condemning Act Zero several times throughout the video and at one point calling it a "piece of ****."
